I think it’s time that I reveal a little bit more about myself by playing a very simple game of ‘Never Have I Ever’.  Don’t worry, I won’t go blue on you.  It’s just that I’ve lived in LA long enough to where there are certain things that I think would’ve already been crossed off the list of thing-to-do-in-LA a LONG time ago.  However, yours truly here have yet to check these places and/or things off my to-do list, so, here goes…Never Have I Ever:

…been to Disneyland.  I have however been to Disney World in Orlando, so does that still count?

…been to Coachella.  I know.  I know.  What kind of freaking LA blogger am I that I haven’t been to THE music festival of SoCal?!  (a rhetorical question)  Maybe this year??

…been to The Getty Museum,

…or the The Getty Villa.  Zero excuses here since admission to both places is FREE.

…eaten a burger at In-And-Out.  I became a vegetarian 2 years before I moved out to LA.

…had a designated parking spot.  It’s been 9 years of permit and non-permit street parking for me.  I forgot what it’s like to have a parking spot and not have to worry about finding parking when I come home. #LAPriviledges. Sigh.

…partied at Playhouse.  I feel like this Hollywood nightclub has been around forever, and I have yet to step foot in there.  Maybe it’s a good thing?

There you have it folks.  I felt somewhat ashamed as I was typing some of these things, but it is what it is.  Maybe I’ll get to it soon, or maybe I’ll just sit on it for another 10 years.  Happy #MotivationalMonday!  Haha!

I love shopping.  Duh.  Who doesn’t?  But I really love shopping for people, especially my family and close friends.  I love helping them pick out clothes and try on stuff that they normally wouldn’t have picked out for themselves.  In a way, I’m like their personal shopper, but I often have to pick out an entire outfit for them.

Like most of the people I help shop for, my mother doesn’t have a mental inventory of what she has in her closet.  So when we go shopping I have to pick out a top, a bottom, a bag, a pair of shoes…the whole shebang, (regardless if she already owns something close or similar).  That’s why when an influx of two-piece and matching sets came out this past spring/summer season, I got really excited.  The top and bottom have already been picked out for you!  (No need to call me anymore asking me what top goes with what bottom, #yourewelcomemother).

For Love and Lemons, Faithfull The Brand, and Band of Gypsies all came out amazing prints for their matching sets that I want to wear over and over again.  The best part is that these matching pieces stand out individually, and can be worn separately with other great stuff that you already have.  So, like the lyrics of Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock’s song, “It Takes Two To Make a Thing Go Right”.  Here are some of my favorite matching sets that came out this past summer season:

In between takes, I decided to switch to some daintier earrings.  These Mejuri studs are just the perfect touch of simplicity and elegance.  I am so in love with this jewelry line!

Happy Friday folks!  Please excuse all the nippage going on in my pics.  It was raining on the day of the shoot, but I had to squeeze it in regardless of the weather conditions, so it was a hard day.  Haha, sorry, had to throw that in there.

Anyhew, the point of this post is to talk about my sleep, or lack there of.  I mentioned in my previous post, (see OBSESSION), that I’ve been staying up late at night surfing the web for new furniture and home decor.  This has not ceased, and has in fact gotten worse.

I’ve subdued the urge to spend all my money on home furnishings by splurging on a GORGEOUS wool rug from West Elm.  Btw, they’re currently having a President’s Day sale, (see SALES for more details).  I’ve also stopped by Target and found lots of good faux fur furniture and accessories to help elevate the look of my studio.  Oh, and did I mention that they too are also having a sale this weekend on home furnishing?!  Here are some of the stuff I’m slobbering over:

Back to the topic at hand, insomnia.  I’m probably sleeping no more than 3-4 hours each night.  That might be typical for some of you, but I’m someone who normally sleeps 8-9 hours.  So by cutting my sleep number by more than half, I have become a caffeine addict.  This isn’t a very healthy lifestyle, even if I am still working out 4 times a week.

The real problem is that I’m currently working 4 jobs: acting, blogging, social media consulting, and restaurant hospitality.  These are daytime AND nighttime jobs, so I have very little personal time.  I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy this bit of chaos in my life, but I know I need to do something about the sleeping portion.  What I hope to do is to scale back on the number of days I work at the restaurant, pop some melatonin when I get home from work, and shut down the computer at midnight sharp.

I also need to scale back on the number of caffeinated drinks (i.e. tea and coffee) I have during the day, or make it only every other day that I’m allowed to have one.  I am tied to the hip to my iPhone, and that needs to be turned off as well by a certain time, #bloggerproblems.  If all else fails, I will just have to think about my skin.  Lack of sleep causes wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes.  Vanity should be able to knock some sense into me.

Do you have any remedies for treating a busy brain and/or help falling asleep?  Let me know!  I’d love to hear your advice.  Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!

For those of you that have been following along, you know that I have an obsession for crop tops.  Whether it’s cropped tees, cropped tanks, or cropped matching sets, I have a soft spot for these skin showing pieces.  Since summer is coming to a close, many brands are throwing massive sales to offload their spring and summer pieces (see SALES for details).  I’ve taken full advantage of this and have loaded up on my favorite crops.

Crops can be tricky with different body shapes and sizes, and my advice is to go high on the bottom.  Since my top is already so revealing, I don’t really need to show much more skin.  I prefer a high-waist bottom when I wear crop tops.  It helps elongate my legs, and I can cover up my belly since I’m not exactly sporting a six-pack down there.

Here are some of my fav crops that I have my eyes on:

I’m wearing an AQ/AQ top that I purchased from Shopbop a few years ago.  I love the strong V neckline, which gives me more support on this bralette.  This top may be revealing, but the strong lines make this top classy and structured. kangthropologie_holycrop_outfit2 kangthropologie_holycrop_IMG_2425

I found this J. Crew Garden Short in Linen on sale, and have been wearing them everywhere.  This pair sits perfectly high on the waist, and have a great classy finish to them.  It comes in four different colors.

So sad to see summer end, but I’m so looking forward to wearing coats and jackets again.  Anyone else excited about fall fashion?!

If you’ve been following me on Snapchat, you’d know that my current favorite store is Urban Outfitters.  They’re having awesome sales, and I’m lucking out left and right on my purchases there, (especially at the store off Melrose).  They have this sale section in the fitting room area upstairs where you can find sale items that are an additional 50% off the marked price.  Here’s a secret I’m going to reveal to you savvy shoppers: always check the price of their items online.  Most of the time the price at the store doesn’t reflect the sale price that is online.  Remember that fabulous suede bag from the recent post HOT AF?  Yeah, found it at the store, checked the price online, and then got it for an additional 50% off that sale price online.  #WINNING!

I have on a pair of Kimchi Blue Whitney Floral Wrap Short in Black Multi.  For less than $50, these shorts are PERFECT!  They’re feminine, comfy and stylish.

I decided to pair the shorts with the Kimchi Blue Goldie Floral Flutter-Sleeve Tee in Pink because that’s how it was displayed on the mannequin.  It was love at first sight.  The top is currently on sale online for less than $25!  If you purchase it at the store and it’s a different price, just show them the item online and they’ll match the price.

I just love the open back of this top.  It’s such a pretty top to wear for the summer.  I feel like I’m covered up still, but the top is breezy enough that I won’t get too hot.kangthropologie_UOonYou_IMG_2084

I fell in love with Sbicca shoes when I was in middle school.  They’re the most comfy shoes to wear…EVER, which is why I was elated when I found this pair of Sbicca Annabella on sale!  Talk about the perfect summer platform heels!  I love the fact that it’s black and tan so I can pair it with more colors and outfits.  They have these super cushioned soles that make walking on 5 inch heels feel like walking on clouds.  If you never tried a pair, go to your nearest Nordstrom and try it on.  So worth it!kangthropologie_UOonYou_IMG_2087

Was suppose to make a trip to Atlanta for work, but it’s been cancelled.  Whomp, whomp.  No worries, I’ll just occupy myself with museums, coffee shops and galleries…and shopping.

The greatest thing about Los Angeles is the weather.  The second greatest thing about Los Angeles is the weather.  It is almost the middle of December and we are still in the high 70s.  The only thing that sucks is it’s freezing in the early morning, so if you’re an early riser, be prepared to have a coat handy.  However, by late morning to early afternoon you’re looking at some shorts-temperature.  This is what I call, a warm winter.

These Forever21 High-Waisted Woven Shorts are currently on sale for $10.  $10!!  I thought I got a steal during #BlackFriday when I purchased these with a no-minimum free shipping offer.  However, they are still the same price now as they were then, so I’d act fast before these sell out.  Here is a similar look.

This is an old Saks Fifth Avenue Collection Cashmere Tee that I got a loooooong time ago.  I purchased it back then because of its beautiful sky blue color.  Because it is cashmere, it keeps me warm just enough.  I love the juxtaposition of the deep burgundy shorts with this bright blue top.  Here are similar looks:

J.Crew Collection Cashmere Short-Sleeve T-Shirt (select colors on sale)

Neiman Marcus Cashmere Crewneck Short-Sleeve Sweater (on sale)

I’m headed back home to Dallas in a couple of weeks for Christmas holiday.  Anyone going anywhere cool?
