PRETTY

You know that feeling when you wake up and you’re feeling great, your hair is just the right amount of messy, and your smile looks brighter than normal?  Right, me neither.  Which is why we need fashion therapy to help boost our moral every now and then.  Sometime you just need a dress that makes you feel alive, female,…pretty.

I went to the KeepSake Sample Sale in DTLA last week (see SALES for details) and found this pretty Keepsake Mirror Image Maxi Dress in an XS for only $10.  I’m telling y’all, Sample Sales are your best of best friends.  Sure they don’t have your size in everything that you love, but you’ll find that one or two diamond in the rough and walk out with the biggest smile on your face.

I still feel like the top of this dress is a bit too big, and will take it in to alterations to have it more fitted to my frame.  Keepsake is an Aussie brand, and I find that Aussie brands tend to run a little bigger than even American brands and especially European brands.  Here’s a similar look that’s on sale at UO.  pretty_IMG_7309

Remember this Armani Exchange Faux Shearling Bomber Jacket from FALL-ING?  It’s getting chilly in LA and this jacket is the perfect masculine piece to top off this feminine dress.  As you know, I love the juxtaposition of masculine/feminine or conservative/edgy.  It’s the ying and yang of fashion.

This jacket also provides just the right amount of warmth and coverage so that you don’t take away the flow of the dress.  Here’s a similar look.

I feel like I’ve been begging for cold weather in LA since early August, and now that we have it, I don’t want it.  Anyone else feeling this way?

Thanks for reading!  And as always, feel free to ask questions, leave a comment, or offer suggestions in the comments section below.  Happy Holidays!
