TOO MANY

They say you can’t ever have too many pairs of shoes, or purses, or dresses, but how about the same pattern/print?  I’m specifically referring to stripes.  I mean, I have about 5 of the same navy blue and white striped tops.  They only vary in sleeve length and thickness of the stripes.  I have 4 of the same striped dresses, and I consider them all my go-to dresses.  I admit, I have an addiction for horizontal stripes.  It’s just such a classy print and it goes with any and every season.  I feel the need to wear stripes whenever I’m in a preppy/classy mood.

I know some people freak out at the idea of horizontal stripes because it can make you look wider, but I would like to beg the differ.  Stripes can be worn on all figures and sizes as long as you know where to proportion the stripes.  If you’re top/bottom heavy, stay away from skinny stripes and stick with bolder stripes.  Certain patterns can hit at the right places, (i.e. hips and waist), and actually accentuate your curves versus exaggerating them.

I’m wearing a J.Crew Summerweight Sweater.  This style is currently on sale and perfect for the pre-fall season.  I have also linked some other striped favs of mine in the widget above.  Enjoy!
