2021 so far has been a year of newness for me. I have a new job. I have a new home. I have a new car, ( technically, I purchased it last year, but didn’t get to drive it until now, so I’m going to argue that it’s still new ). Stores and restaurants are now open for business, and just in time for the summer. Yay!
I have so much cute stuff that I got “hoping” I would get the chance to wear it somewhere, and now I actually do. SOOO, I put together a little style guide of what to wear for any summer fun activities you may have planned.
Full disclosure, the stuff I’m showing are gifted from Revolve. They’re hand picked by me with pieces that range from $150 – $50. I’m wearing a size Small in basically everything. Okurrrr?
Here goes the cute stuff …
1. FIRST DATE HINGE DATE
You know you gotta look CUTE AF for that first impression, but you can’t go too hard or you’ll look thirsty. That’s why I also try to stick with a sexy top and casual bottom. I wore this Superdown Crop Top with a pair of high-waist jeans and some flatform espadrilles to a recent first date. It was perfect because went and got pizza for dinner and drinks afterwards. The top was just sexy enough to show off “da girls” and the long sleeves covered my arms so I wasn’t cold later in the evening.
2. VACAY IN MEXICO
Mexico is primetime destination this summer. Everyone and their moms ( and dads, sisters, brothers, half uncles, dog, parrot, etc ) have been to Mexico for vacay at least once, if not twice, this summer. I just got back recently from Puerto Vallarta and thought if I was ever going to get away with wearing a matching crochet bra top and skirt, it would definitely be in Puerto Vallarta.
I received SOO many compliments when I wore this super cute Lovers + Friends crochet top and matching mini skirt. I had dinner by the pool and then went out dancing later that evening and this set stayed put and there were no wardrobe malfunctions, ( even as champagne was poured down my throat at a Mexican night club ).
3. FANCY DINNER OUT
No more are the days of cooking at home, ordering Postmates or placing yet another takeout order while wearing your sweats, or worse, PJs. Since most restaurants are now open, I want to do my civic duty of dining out and giving money back to our economy.
I miss the days of someone else making me a bluecheese-stuffed-olive extra dirty martini, not having to wash any dishes or waiting 45 mins to an hour for my food to arrive. And nothing says I miss dining out at a fancy restaurant more than showing up at said fancy restaurant in a hot lace mini dress by Superdown.
4. HOT GIRL SUMMER
Another fun and fabulous dress that I brought with me to Mexico is this tie-dye cut-out dress by Superdown. I went into this vacay with the mindset that I was going to get super tanned, and the best way to show off this tan is with a bright colored outfit.
Style this outfit with a pair of designer aviators and vacation itself will come knocking down your door. Espadrille heels and white sneakers would also look great with this dress.
I know it seems cheesy to even call this a hot girl summer, but we all had it rough last year. My mentality this year is WHY DA EF NOT?? Wear that mini dress. Free those nips. Get drunk in Mexico for 72 hours. Live it up.
That’s it for my summer 2021 looks. I hope you all get vaccinated and get out there and enjoy that warm summer sun. Vitamin D is good for you and your soul. Thanks and let me know if y’all have any questions.
xx, Linda
