They say history and fashion repeats itself, and I couldn’t agree more. I remember being a sophmore in high school and showing off my new combat boots the first day of school. Grunge was in and I was embracing it with open arms. I wore it with my big flannel shirt and slightly flared jeans. I think I even lined my lips with black eyeliner to get that extra bad girl look. Man, my parents must’ve hated my outfit! Haha!
Well, now that I’m much older and wiser about fashion, (still working on the adulting stuff), I’ve learned a few styling tips or two with lace up boots. I’ve teamed up with Famous Footwear to show off two ways to style my Madden Girl Lace Up Boots, the LA fall fashion way.
For me, LA fall fashion just means throwing on a black leather jacket over whatever you would wear regardless of the season or weather. Tbh, it really doesn’t get that cold here in the fall, so a leather motorcycle jacket usually takes care of any chill factor we might have.
I decided to use this leather jacket concept and make my first look edgy and cool. I mean, the boots on it’s own says I’m a bada$$, so why mess with it’s mojo? The lace bodysuit that’s on trend right now gives me a bit of sexiness, and my big hoop earrings take me all the way back to the 90s.
If the weather does it colder, I just have to trade out my denim shorts with some vintage, high-waist jeans. The boots look best if the jeans were slightly rolled up and scrunched in. I even recommend styling the boots with crew socks.
I’m considering slapping on some temporary tattoos, wearing this outfit, and call myself a biker chick for Halloween. Call it method acting.
My second outfit is my go-to look of the season: a super cute feminine dress with some rocking boots and crew socks. The dress says I’m female, and the Madden Girl Lace Up Boots say, “No thank you, I can change my own light bulb”.
It wasn’t cold at all the day I shot this look so I didn’t wear my big teddy bear jacket. However, a big teddy bear coat would go perfect with this outfit, and if it gets even colder, I would wear black sheer tights under my dress.
