I think it’s time that I reveal a little bit more about myself by playing a very simple game of ‘Never Have I Ever’.  Don’t worry, I won’t go blue on you.  It’s just that I’ve lived in LA long enough to where there are certain things that I think would’ve already been crossed off the list of thing-to-do-in-LA a LONG time ago.  However, yours truly here have yet to check these places and/or things off my to-do list, so, here goes…Never Have I Ever:

…been to Disneyland.  I have however been to Disney World in Orlando, so does that still count?

…been to Coachella.  I know.  I know.  What kind of freaking LA blogger am I that I haven’t been to THE music festival of SoCal?!  (a rhetorical question)  Maybe this year??

…been to The Getty Museum,

…or the The Getty Villa.  Zero excuses here since admission to both places is FREE.

…eaten a burger at In-And-Out.  I became a vegetarian 2 years before I moved out to LA.

…had a designated parking spot.  It’s been 9 years of permit and non-permit street parking for me.  I forgot what it’s like to have a parking spot and not have to worry about finding parking when I come home. #LAPriviledges. Sigh.

…partied at Playhouse.  I feel like this Hollywood nightclub has been around forever, and I have yet to step foot in there.  Maybe it’s a good thing?

There you have it folks.  I felt somewhat ashamed as I was typing some of these things, but it is what it is.  Maybe I’ll get to it soon, or maybe I’ll just sit on it for another 10 years.  Happy #MotivationalMonday!  Haha!

It’s Good Friday everyone!  For those of you that have given up carbs for Lent, first, I don’t know how you did it, but’s time to order an extra large pizza all for yourself.  My family is back in Dallas and I’m not heading home, so I’ll be spending Easter with some good girlfriends in LA.  With that said, I know I need a super cute outfit to wear.  Something Spring-ish, something floral, something for the bunny in all of us.  This Good Friday is about to turn this long weekend into something super fun and flirty!

Leave it to Forever 21 to bring this pretty Cutout Rose Print Romper to life, and for less than $20!!  This romper is super soft and comfy to wear, but beware of the super deep plunging V-neck.  I was absentminded and forgot to bring wardrobe tape with me when I shot this outfit.  Otherwise, I would have taped it around my boobs to prevent so much skin.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind showing skin, but there’s a difference between being stylish and hooker-ish.

Also, the bell sleeves are a bit long on me and often times covered up my hands, (as seen in these photos).  However, it didn’t bother me so much because I tend to get cold and like my hands covered.  Here’s a similar look.kangthropologie_goodfriday_IMG_9935 kangthropologie_goodfriday_outfit3kangthropologie_goodfriday_IMG_9873

I’m currently working with Coach, and their team has sent me some really great, high-quality leather goods, including this Crossbody Saddle Bag 23 in Glovetanned Leather.  It’s literally become my everyday bag.  I’m not saying it because we are collaborating together, but I really do love this bag.  It’s clean, not patterned, holds everything I need, and it’s crossbodied.  It comes in several other colors, and you can even have it monogrammed with your initials.  There will be more Coach goodies to come.

I’m super curious to know what everyone gave up for Lent.  Did you give up something super hard?  Let me know!  Have a great Easter!

It’s funny how I just blogged about how warm it is in Los Angeles, and the next day it’s windy, rainy and freezing.  I guess I jinxed it.  However, I still had a fabulous holiday dinner to attend this past Friday at Toca Madera in WeHo, and what would be more appropriate to wear to this dinner than something warm and fuzzy…and sexy.  fuzzy_IMG_7217 fuzzy_IMG_7211 fuzzy_IMG_7218 fuzzy_IMG_7215 fuzzy_IMG_7214

This is another of my #BlackFriday purchases from LuLu’s.  This is the Software Update Fuzzy Blush Pink Two-Piece Sweater Dress that I got on sale for $47.  It’s currently sold out, but there is a waitlist that you can get on when the item is restocked.

I purchased an XS and it fits my 5’4″ petite frame well.  I think it’s a bit snug on the top, but as long as I don’t wear a padded bra it fits just fine.  I specifically made sure to take a picture with my arms raised to show the length of this cropped top.  If you’re busty, I think your boobs may pop out underneath, so be careful curvy girls.

This is a pair of Steven by Steve Madden Rogger Sandals in Blush.  Blush is no longer available but you can still purchase them in Cobalt, Coral or Black.  They’re super easy to walk in can dress up anything you wear.  Here’s a similar lookfuzzy_IMG_7217 fuzzy_IMG_6887

Other than fashion, cocktails can also make you feel warm and fuzzy.  What’s your favorite holiday cocktail?

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s going to be a busy weekend and I need an outfit that will transition well from day to night. Just because I put on a sexy black dress doesn’t mean I also have to put on super high heels.  Ladies, make it EASY on yourself.  Why not dress comfy, sexy and cool at the same time?

I just got this BB Dakota Kiana Dress in XS from Urban Outfitters for under $20.  It’s no longer available on UO, but you can still get it on sale from Revolve.  Here’s a similar look: Zara Strappy Dress, (currently in their Special Prices section).

I paired my LBD with these Vans Sk8-Hi California Reissue Sneaker that I purchased on sale last week for under $20 from UO, (read my previous post Urbanology about the sale and purchase).  Automatically, my body-contour dress just went from ‘night-club’ wear to ‘let’s just hangout at a bar’ wear.

Once a Texan, always a Texan.  That saying has always stuck with me even after I moved to LA six years ago.  I found this awesome Madison & Berkeley ‘Side of Ranch’ Shirttail Tank at the Nordstrom department store in Dallas, TX (my hometown) on sale for under $15. This bright red tee made me smile because it screams I’m a southerner.  I paired this with a faux leather pencil skirt I got in late spring of this year from Zara.  Even though both the tank and the skirt are no longer available, here are some similar looks:

sideofranch_IMG_4477As of today, the temperature was still in the 90’s in Los Angeles.  However, I decided to throw on a Vince Asymmetrial Zip Leather Jacket to pretend like it was fall weather.  Love the jacket.  Hate the heat.  Got this leather jacket for a steal (under $400) because the only Saks Fifth Avenue in Dallas, TX was closing and had to get rid of all it’s inventory.  Talk about being at the right place at the right time.  This jacket is currently sold out, but the Vince Leather Scuba Jacket is currently on sale at Nordstrom.

I love the mixture of sophisticated and casual.  How about you?  What do you mix up in your closet to make a sophisticated outfit look more casual or vice versa?  Love to hear from y’all!
