Go ahead.  Scroll through and look at the pics first.  Feel free to drop your jaw a few times or say that’s ‘So effin gorgeous!’ as many times as you want.  I won’t even be offended if you don’t end up reading my post.  Pinterest is about to get some new pins.

So here’s the story of how I got to participate in one of the most beautifully curated photo/video shoots of my blogger life.  Last weekend I had the privilege of spending a mock Galentine’s Day with 6 other beautiful influencers.  The brainchild of this whole concept, Heather of @heather_roams, reached out to each of us with this magical, boho vision.  Though I have never met any of the other ladies before this beach day, I was immediately welcomed with bright smiles and warm personalities.  How we got away with no egos, no complaints and no drama is beyond me.  It can be a bitch (pun intended) to get 7 women who are complete strangers to act like they like one another, but it’s a whole other experience when we all actually get along.  We truly embraced the idea of Galentine’s Day as well as each other.

What made this shoot even more beautiful and special was that the crew and talent were predominantly women.  Other than the film crew, the rest of the team were all women.  #hifive

I know I’ve used the word beautiful a gazillion times already, but that’s literally what this shoots was…fucking BEAUTIFUL.  I wouldn’t be surprised if you googled the word beautiful and one of these images pop up in your search.

I’m going to be doing more videos and Vlogging, so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel!

I’m so glad I got to share this experience with these 6 gorgeous women.  Be sure to check out their Instagram feeds!

Other than the images that are shown here, I also shot some other looks with two very talented and gorgeous photographers, Carrie Rogers and Lauren Newman, who are both new to the LA area.

Btw, I left the images in the filtered edits that were provided by the photographers so you can distinguish between their work.  Carrie’s images have a more soft and romantic hue, while Lauren’s images are more bright with high contrast.

Thank you to everyone who made these happy moments possible!  Happy Galentine’s Day ladies! Xo!

Happy 2018 everyone!  Hope your new year’s celebration was more eventful than mine.  Not to mislead you, it was great and with wonderful company, but my new year’s eve wasn’t full of dancing, raging and taking fun pictures until the wee hours of the night.  We pretty much called it quits after countdown, went home and fell asleep.  Haha!  It’s what happens when you get old.  I didn’t put much effort or time into planning NYE, and this got me thinking about what other stuff I’ve been slacking on…like my blog.

To be honest, I’m not that great of a blogger, and I find it hard for me to offer blogging tips when I don’t follow through myself.  It’s not so much my lack of passion as it is my lack of focus.  It was really hard for me to focus on KANGTHROPOLOGIE when I had to work 3 other part-time jobs.  However, that’s no longer an excuse, and now I want to concentrate on the things that I can do to become a better blogger (BBB).

I don’t read enough.  Period.  It’s not just the books I own, but I need to start reading more online news articles, blog posts, newsletters, etc..  There is so much information out there, and I’m missing it all by watching Netflix marathons.  I think the more I read other blogs of fashion and lifestyle bloggers similar to myself, the more I can figure out what works and what doesn’t.  Why are some blogs more successful than others?  Are there new topics that spark people’s interests?

If nothing else, reading other content will inspire me to create new content and come up with better ideas and topics.  By reading other blogger posts, this will also help me become a better engager, which leads me to the second thing I need to improve on…

I’m really bad at this.  REALLY BAD.  (Sigh).  It’s really important for me to engage not only with my readers, but with other bloggers and brands.  I have a blogger friend that’s really great at this.  I’m always at awe of her when she tells me so-and-so wrote about this on her blog, or sends me articles that I would find interesting.

It’s not hard.  It’s just a click away.  I need to be more proactive and reach out to other bloggers that I find interesting or have similar aesthetics.  People respond better when they know that you have an interest in what they have to say.  It’s a two-way street and it’s always good to support your fellow bloggers.

My best collaborations and content have been those that were well planned.  The idea, the concept, the mood have all been laid out before the execution, and the images that come about are some that I will remember and treasure forever.  Obviously, I’m not referring to OOTDs but the trips and seasonal campaigns.  I would like to plan out more trips in advance and come up with seasonal campaigns at least a month before execution.  Mood boards and media kits are very helpful when you’re reaching out to brands, and those take time to curate.  My goal is to put in more effort into all of my events, no matter how big or small.

These are the top 3 #BBB things I can improve on that I can think of off the top of my head.  I’d be more than grateful to hear your thoughts on how I can improve.  I want to put my best blogger foot forward this year, and your input would be much appreciated.  Thanks for being so patient with me the last 2 years.  Here’s to 2018!

Happy Sunday everyone!  This has got to be one of my top favorite outfits that I’ve ever worn for my blog.  It has all the elements of style that I love: a mixture of designer and contemporary, feminine edginess, AND, it’s a JUMPSUIT!  How much more #Kangthro can this be?!

I’ve mentioned several times that I can get lost at times with fashion blogging.  That I feel like I haven’t exactly found my voice, or perhaps I’m just too eclectic when it comes to fashion.  However, I’m owning it in this outfit, and I feel like this is important for any blogger that is just starting out.  There will be times when you’re swayed one way or another because of certain trends, but it’s good to always check in with yourself and come back to what feels natural.  For me, the monochrome black, the hint of sexiness, and the ease and comfiness of this Clayton MaryJane Jumpsuit feel natural.

Definitely try out new styles and trends because that’s just what you have to do to evolve in fashion.  But whatever it is that is your fashion sense, wear it.  Own it.  You’ll see the difference in your photos and in your face when an outfit feels right.

For this jumpsuit, I wanted to pair it with a pretty lace bra because I felt like wearing a tee or an off-the-shoulder top would be too obvious.  Plus, there’s been another heat wave that passed through LA, so why not expose a bit more skin.  Am I right ladies?

I searched for a while to find the perfect lace bra that would show off well, and I found this gorgeous Free People Slow Dance Underwire Bra with the prettiest racerback.  Ladies, there aren’t enough complimentary words I can say about this bra.  It’s racerback.  It’s pretty.  It’s underwire.  It comes in seven different colors.  It’s like finding the Prince Charming of intimates.

It was my first time shooting at Venice Canals, and I’m just obsessed with this location.  I find it almost embarrassing to admit that I’ve lived in LA for almost 8 years and that was my first time ever visiting the canals and obsessing over those beautiful homes.  Are there any other locations I’m just oblivious to that I need to shoot at?  If you’re so kind as to take pity on this always-late-to-the-party soul, please do share!  Thanks!
