GROWN UP

It’s New Years Eve circa 1990s and my mother is throwing her annual holiday party at our house. I remember being really young, sitting at the kids’ table, and thinking how I couldn’t wait to grow up. I wanted to sit with the grown ups, drink their drinks, eat their food, and most importantly, wear their clothes. Flash forward many years later and New Years Eve is still the one holiday every year that I feel the need to be super dressed up. To be glam. To be an adult. To be a grown up.

I am wearing an IRO Anissa Beaded Lapel Blazer in White that I purchased from Intermix last year. I am wearing a size FR 34 and I feel like the blazer fits true to size. It’s suppose to sit loose and boxy on your frame. I love the metallic beaded details on the lapels. This might look like a simple white blazer, but it’s the details that glam up this simple jacket. It’s linen and viscose blend, so the fabric is really light and airy, (something you want when your outerwear is part of your outfit). It’s also available in black. Here’s a similar look.

This dress is EVERYTHING. I mean EVERYTHING. It’s got cutouts, slits, see-through panels, deep v-neck, effortless flow, and blackout sexiness.
