ROOTED: MY HAIRCARE RITUAL FOR A HEALTHIER SCALP

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Rooted Rituals. All opinions are 100% mine.

The haircare game has changed DRAMATICALLY since I was growing up, and that wasn’t even that long ago. What used to only be shampoo and conditioner (and sometimes even a 2-in-1..yikes!) has now grown to an array of haircare products that are available to help us style, protect and deep condition our hair. My interest in pre-styling haircare products only started the past year or so when I noticed that the gaps between my hair follicles looked a lot more prominent than the year before. At the same time, my scalp became more itchy than it has in the past. All signs pointed to “maturity”, but I wasn’t going to let age become a factor in my always long and semi-beautiful head of hair.

I’m a guru when it comes to skincare and promoting skincare rituals to achieve that perfect skin, so why can’t I put in just as much attention and effort to my scalp? I mean, it’s only the base for one of THE most prominent things you see on my head. SO, here’s the three-step haircare ritual that I’ve been doing for the past 3 months that have helped me grow better, thicker hair:

STEP ONE: CLEANSE

It’s sooo important to make sure you are washing your hair properly. We put so much products on our hair that over time it builds up and you don’t even realize that there’s been a build up (think tarter on teeth). I only wash my hair every 3-4 days so you can imagine the build up I get on my scalp. To make sure I remove all the build up on my scalp I like to use a scalp scrub, like Rooted Rituals Quick Rinse Scalp Scrub, and I apply it on my head in the shower with Rooted Rituals Scalp Massager.

After I rinse out the scalp scrub, I shampoo my hair. I put Rooted Rituals Clarifying Shampoo on the scalp massager, and it helps me get the shampoo and lather deep into my roots. Plus, it really does feel like a scalp massage.

STEP TWO: CONDITION

After I rinse out the shampoo, the next step is to apply the conditioner. I normally just use Rooted Rituals Silicone-Free Conditioner, but if I feel like I need a deep conditioning, then I also add in Rooted Rituals Deep Hydrating Concentrate, which only takes a few more minutes.

STEP THREE: TREATMENT

This is where the haircare game gets fun. Much like you would after you do the two-step cleanse on your face, is to now nourish it with toner, essences and/or serums. Well, my hair serum is Rooted Rituals Cooling and Strengthening Tonic for Scalp. I apply a few drops on my scalp in different sections while my hair is still damp/wet, and then I massage that into my scalp with the scalp massager.

And that is it. Nothing too stringent or excessive, but a few extra steps and haircare products and I can have a healthier scalp, which means more beautiful, thicker hair. I’ll keep y’all posted on the results of my hair gaps as I continue this new haircare ritual. Please let me know if you are experiencing the same hair and scalp issues as me. I would love to hear your solutions and/or thoughts. Thanks for reading and stay safe and healthy everyone!

xx, Linda
