Happy Hump Day everyone! You may have already seen glimpses of this outfit on my Instagram (@kanthropologie), but now I’m actually going to blog about it because I love this rocker-chic look so much. I feel like a hat can change the look of an outfit instantly, and for this outfit I think it made the look more cool and laid-back.
I got this Lovely Bird San Miguel Gold Concho Hat on final sale for $37 (orig. $129) at Revolve. I absolutely love this hat because I have a small head and most hats swim on my head, but this one fits perfectly. I can wear it tilted back (as pictured and styled) or lower on my head to give it a more western look. I also like the gold concho detail on the hat, which gives it a unique flair without being ostentatious. I also really like the Lovely Bird San Miguel Black Braided Concho Trim Hat in Smoke, which is also on sale at Revolve.
I am wearing Zara High-Waist Jeans in Black. These jeans are very stretchy and very comfortable to wear. I am wearing a size 2, and I like that they’re high-waisted because it elongates my legs and it holds in my belly when I choose to wear cropped shirts. I love Zara denim because they are always high-quality and comfortable, but they charge only a fraction of the cost of other designer jeans. Here are some other Zara denim that I like:

This ‘The Kills’ graphic tee that I’m wearing is from Uniqlo. I bought it almost ten years ago from their store in Shanghai, China. It was a regular t-shirt, but I decided to recycle the tee and make it sexier by using a pair of scissors and cutting out the neck. It now has an off-the-should look with a wide neck. I then cut off the bottom to make it at waist length. I’m sure you have several cool t-shirt that’s been sitting in your closet for years and haven’t been touched. Pull them out, cut them up, and recycle them. It’ll save you money on buying another t-shirt that will eventually end up sitting in your closet.
Wearing leopard print can be tricky if you over do it. They’re a super fun print to wear, but can look trashy really quick. If you decide to go with a bold print like the leopard print, keep everything else muted. Too many loud prints and patterns can overwhelm the outfit. Not saying don’t ever mix print and pattern, but there’s a time and place for everything. For basic streetwear, I would stick to the golden rule of only one loud print item per outfit.
