LAST CALL

SO, I’m going to start off by first saying that everything in this outfit is no longer available.  (Silence.  Someone coughs.)  You’re now wondering why in the freaking world would a fashion blogger blog about an outfit that is no longer available AND name her post LAST CALL?!  Before you get your panties all in a wad, let me explain and tell the story of the last call items that you see before you.

What we have here ladies are fashionable items that I purchased on last call clearance because they were already past their season, the last size of that item and/or the very last one of that item.  I’m not sure why it’s such a taboo to wear things from previous seasons when staple items like a LBD, long black coat, and grey platform boots are always on trend fall after fall and winter after winter.  Does this outfit look fabulous? Yes.  Does this outfit fit the season?  Yes.  Did this outfit cost me a mere fraction of what I would have spent if I purchased it as soon as it was released? YES!  So start shopping smart!

I am wearing a J. Crew Long Wool Coat with Nautical Buttons.  I got this coat almost a decade ago, and I still remember buying it for $40.  YUP, four-zero dollars.  If you have EVER shopped at J. Crew, you would know that most of their outerwear start at $150 retail price.

So how in the world did I purchase mine for such a ridiculously low price?  By purchasing it in January and waiting for the sale on sale event, which always happens because they’re trying to offload their winter inventory.  I’m an impulse shopper so I can completely understand and sympathize with the shopaholics that are screaming what if they run out of my size or what if they sell out?!  My response is: it happens.  (Silence.  Someone coughs.)  But is it really the end of the world?  Instead you end up finding other stylish items that you didn’t notice before AND that are on super sale.

This is a Theyskens’ Theory Kumila Dress that I purchased from Barneys New York about three years ago for 1/3 of it’s original price.  Once again, I purchased it around January/February when all the winter items are purged from the stores.  This beautiful silk knit dress can also be worn into spring because it’s light-weight and very breathable.

And lastly, these fabulous Dolce Vita Suede Block-Heel Knee-High Boots in Grey that I got from Free People for under $100 a few years ago.  This was the steal of a lifetime.  I’m sure it was probably a return, but it was the last pair they had in stock and it just happen so to be my size.  It was a purchase sent from above.  They are very comfortable to wear, but the zippers in the back can get a bit rusty if not worn or used in a while.  I just recommend wearing them often so you don’t run into this issue.

This whole outfit may have only costed me $250, and that includes wool outerwear, silk knit dress, and a pair of suede platform boots from very reputable and quality brands.  Is this a last call steal or what?  Thank y’all for reading, and as always, please feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback!
