Hey!  What’s up?  I’m back…  Yeah.  Sorry I’ve been MIA…again.  [Sounding like a guy who you dated for 3 months then suddenly ghosted on you].  I’ve got no excuses.  Well, I have a few excuses:

  1. I’m working multiple part time jobs, and they’re just taking up more of my time.
  2. I’ve got a boyfriend that I like to spend every free moment with when I’m not busy with my multiple part time jobs.
  3. I ran out of stuff that I wanted to or felt relevant enough to talk about.
  4. Editing and selecting photos to post is a bitch.
  5. I’ve lost motivation and
  6. I’ve gotten lazy.

So there.  But with that said, it’s not so much the fall as it is the rise back up, right?  The question to ask here is not why I disappeared, but why I decided to come back.  What has actually motivated me enough to type up this blog post?

Well, I don’t want to give you one of those “top 5 ways to stay motivated about your blog” kind of BS post.  The real reason I felt motivated to blog again is that I’m working with a new photographer, Anthony Newen, which shot these beautiful images that I felt necessary to post and show everyone. I also felt guilty about dropping the ball on my blog.  It’s only been just a little over 2 years, and I’m already losing my mojo.

As an actress in LA, I don’t have much control over my life.  I don’t get to make the judgement calls on whether to cast me in a show, film or commercial.  However, in blogging, I have full creative control in my content, in my verbiage, my theme, my style, my everything.  So why would I want to give up on the only thing I can control in beautiful, sunny LA?  I don’t, and thus I’m back.  I guess I just took the roundabout way of saying I took for granted what I had, and it took me a whole month to realize that.

I want to apologize to you, my readers, for leaving y’all for so long.  To make up for it, I want to let y’all know there is a Reformation Sample Sale this weekend in Culver City!!  (See SALES for more deets).  You see, it’s always sunny in LA.

PS, I’m sure you’re aware that I’ve chopped off my hair even more!  What do you think of it?  Do you like the new haircut?  Be honest and let me know!

They say men are like wine.  They get better with age.  I would like to say that women get better with age as well, in terms of knowing what we want.  For instance, I know now that I prefer Cabernet Sauvignon if I’m drinking red wine.  I also know that I look great in red because of my skin tone.  And finally, I know a fabulous red lipstick does a body good.

On a recent date I decided to explore all three of my wants and know-hows, so I put on red lipstick, wore a red romper, and poured myself a glass of red wine.  I decided to wear this super fun and flirty UO Kimchi Blue Ruffle Hem Fit + Flare Romper in Red Multi, which is currently on sale!  I absolutely LOVE how comfortable and feminine I feel in this romper.  It’s available in other colors so you have choices in finding the color that YOU want.

I’m currently collaborating with Ditto, an online retail store that allows you to virtually try on and rent prescription glasses and sunglasses from designers.  You may also purchase them if you fall in love with it.  If you use the code: KANGTHRO you’ll get one month free to try out this service!  Through Ditto, I’ve been able to rent sunglasses from Karen Walker and Miu Miu.

I currently have on Karen Walker Hollywood Pool in Dusty Pink and Crystal Peach w/ Gold Lenses.  These shades are so much fun, and perfect for this outfit.  I’ve received so many compliments each time I wear them, and I can’t wait to actually wear them to a hollywood pool party.

I’ll be heading to Atlanta to shoot a feature film in mid-July, which is right in the middle of their humid heated summer.  Any suggestions as to how to stay cool??  I need all the help I can get!  Haha!  Thanks for reading everyone!

It’s been WAAAYYY too long since my last CYBER MONDAY post.  My bad folks.  It doesn’t mean that I haven’t been shopping.  In fact, I’ve been doing a lot of sample sale shopping.  Great for me, but sucks for those of you that are not in the LA area.  I make sure to post all my sample sale info in my SALES page, so check it regularly to stay updated on the latest sales.  I’ll be showcasing my latest fashion finds and purchases in the weeks to come.  Get excited because lots of gorgeous dresses from Revolve!

Another thing to look forward to is the transitioning of Spring to Summer fashion.  I’m falling in love with Free People‘s easy breezy maxi dresses and rompers, sexy and feminine slips that can be worn over swimwear, and Flynn Skye‘s two piece sets.  Also, Gucci has made the comeback of comebacks with their latest accessories, and I’m OBSESSED with their Double G Buckle Belt and Angel Leather Platform Pump.

As you can see, the layout of this post has slightly changed.  Instead of scrolling through each individual store’s shopping cart and item, I’ve made it into a simple display that takes you to the item by just clicking on the image.

Free People, Nasty Gal, Neiman Marcus, UO, Intermix and Revolve are my shopping sites of choice this week.  P. S. Intermix is having a sale on sale.  Take an additional 30% off sale items!  TAKE ADVANTAGE.  Trust me.  Happy shopping my fashionistas!

I think it’s fair to say that bloggers are now finding their blogs and other digital platforms more lucrative than ever before.  Companies are opting to allocate their budget in sponsorships and branding through bloggers than paid advertisement or commercials on television.  Their direct source of contact is now through us, the consumers.  These collaborations create many possibilities for fashion bloggers like me that love to create, but want to have full creative control over their digital content.

With that said, I’ve recently partnered up with Coach and will be working with them in the next few months.  This is my first collab and I’m very excited to be working with a company of this caliber and style.  I want to point out that this blog post is not part of the deal.  I’m not getting paid to blog about the accessories they’ve provided me.  I decided to do this on my own because I wanted to give an honest opinion on these products, which I’ve fallen in love with.  So enough of this essay report talk and let’s get to the fashion!

I am wearing a pair of Coach Drew Heels in Saddle.  Sliding into these slingback studded mules is like slipping my feet into butter.  The soles on the inside of these shoes are of great quality leather, and the suede coverage makes my feet smile.  I was not disappointed at all when I pulled these shoes out of the box.  I’ve been on and off again about purchasing a pair of clogs for my casual maxi skirts, but have held off because of financial priorities, (a girl’s gotta have her fancy coffee drinks…oh, and rent money).

I was very surprised by the aesthetics of the studs, grommets, and rivets on the heel.  Edgy, not what I expected from Coach, at all.  I always thought they were more conservative, but this new line and image is going to bring them back to the table for the younger generation of fashionistas that have sworn them off as lady-like has beens.

I first introduced this Coach Saddle Bag 23 in Glovetanned Leather in my previous post, (see GOOD FRIDAY), and I’m still using it as an everyday bag.  It fits all my needs as far as an everyday bag goes: high-quality material, discreet look, carries all my necessities.  This bag will only get better with age as the wear and tears settle in and it becomes an iconic vintage bag.  If you want a great Spring bag, I recommend getting it in the color Flax.  That mustard yellow is just screaming to be paired up with a white tee and mom jeans.

The elephant in the room is this amazing Reformed (The Reformation x Urban Renewal collab) Cutout Dress that I purchased almost four/five years ago.  Yeah, it’s been that long. The blue print on this dress is out of this world.  I knew I had to buy it the minute I saw it.  Reformation is so great at creating dresses with cutouts that are so sexy and feminine, but also have this “Little House On The Prairie” feel.  Here are some dresses with a similar look/feel:

Reformation Rhoda Dress

Kimchi Blue Lucy Printed Shirt Dress

Kimchi Blue Cornflower Cutout Mini Dress

Illesteva Porto Cervo Gold with Olive Lenses Sunglasses

Even though it’s become very common for fashion bloggers to work with fashion brands on projects, I’m curious to know how you feel about fashion bloggers disclosing their sponsorships?  Do you prefer it looking more like an advertisement or would you like more transparency?  Let me know!

You know what makes me happy?  Great weather, witty chats, puppies, and rompers/jumpsuits with prints that pop.  I probably have at least twenty to thirty rompers/jumpsuits in my closet right now, but I am always happy to add another to the collection.  My go to places for affordable rompers are Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, and Zara.  But, if I don’t have a strict budget, then I like to shop Free People, Planet Blue, or Revolve.  I have decided to pull out one of my oldie but goodie rompers from UO, and I couldn’t be happier to wear it out and show it off.kangthropologie_happy_IMG_8990 kangthropologie_happy_IMG_8985 kangthropologie_happy_IMG_8984

I am wearing a Silence + Noise Printed Mesh Back Romper that I got a few years ago.  I mentioned in the post, BASICS that I recently did a spring clean out of my closet.  This romper is one of the items I have decided to put in my “sell” pile.  I hate to part with it, but I need to make room for more spring goodies that are in my CYBER MONDAY shopping carts.  I also listed a few other items in my Depop Shop.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about any of the items I listed.  Here are some of my favorite printed rompers this spring:

Kimchi Blue Anita Ruffle-Front Skort Romper in Black Multi (on sale)

Ecote Charlotte Plunging Long-Sleeve Romper in Blue Multi (on sale)

Lucca Couture Silky Open-Back Romper (on sale)

Even though the weather has been great during the day in LA, it’s still chilly at night.  I have a tendency to “forget” my jacket at home when I go out during the day, and by night I have to buy a new jacket/coat just to stay warm.  Whoopsie.  Here I’m wearing an A|X Faux Fur Bomber Jacket I purchased two years ago.  It really keeps me warm when the temperature drops down to 60s and I’m still in a sleeveless romper.  Here’s a similar look that’s on sale.

It’s everywhere.  Floral patterns.  Floral skirts.  Floral dresses.  You can almost taste the spring that’s trying to make it’s way back into our wardrobe.  I don’t blame it.  It’s been a rough winter, with all the rain and now snow storm along the east coast.  I’m ready for some warmer weather and some fashion that says it’s okay to show skin again.   kangthropologie_flowerpower_outfit10 kangthropologie_flowerpower_outfit8

One of the best things I love about Urban Outfitters is that they often do collaborations with other brands.  In this particular case, they did a collaboration with my all time fav, Reformation, and created this gorgeous Reformed by The Reformation Flora & Fauna Maxi Dress.  This dress is a couple of years old, but always a knockout whenever I wear it out.  The cut-outs, the slits and the silhouette make the female figure scream.  Here are some floral dresses that I am currently in love with and give off that same sexy, feminine vibe:

Forever 21 Floral Print Wrap Midi Dress

Forever 21 Contemporary Floral Maxi Dress (very similar to the dress I’m wearing)

UO Kimchi Blue Florence High/Low Dress in Blue Multi

ASOS Oh My Love Maxi Tea Dress with Open Back (very similar to the dress I’m wearing)

This is a knit cardigan that I purchased in Taipei, Taiwan last January.  The best part about shopping in Asia is that you find so many little boutiques that sell clothes without labels/brands.  The lack of label makes it more affordable, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s poor quality.  Obviously, you have to really browse, shop, and haggle on pricing, but nonetheless, you end up with great stuff that one one else has in America.  Here’s a similar look.kangthropologie_flowerpower_outfit kangthropologie_flowerpower_outfit11

One of the best things in life is playing in the nude.  Remember when you were young and carefree and clothes wasn’t necessary?  Well, as adults, it would be illegal to parade around in the buff, but it doesn’t mean we have to neglect the nudes when it comes to fashion.  inthenudes_IMG_5721inthenudes_bundledup

This knit sweater is one of my prize possessions, and I scored this Stella McCartney Oversized Chunky Knit Zip Cardigan from the bi-annual Barney’s Warehouse Sale that use to occur every year in the LA Convention Center until August 2012 when they decided to move the sale online.  It was indeed a very sad summer.  However, I was elated that I still got my one last victory purchase.

I have a rule, and this fashion rule is unfortunately unbreakable.  If I try on something at a store and two complete strangers walk up to me and compliment me within a 10 minute time frame on that item, then I must purchase the item (regardless of the cost).  My wallet hates this rule, but I stand by it and it has yet to fail me in my fashion quests.  This $600 sweater was purchased because of that rule and I never regretted it because it was originally $2000+.  I don’t expect you to go break your bank on a chunky knit, but a quality one is always worth the investment.  Here are some similar styles:

ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo Chunky Cardigan (on sale at Barney’s Warehouse)

Rose Gal Stylish Cable-Knit Hooded Cardigan

Michael Kors Button-Front Textured Long Cardigan (on sale at Neiman Marcus)

Stella McCartney Chunky Knit Wool-Blend Cardigan

inthenudes_IMG_5780Underneath the super warm sweater cardigan is Urban Outfitters Out From Under Ribbed V-Neck Midi Slip in Taupe.  This dress is now an online exclusive, but I purchased mine from the Los Angeles Melrose store when they offered it in the color Taupe and Black.  I feel like Out From Under runs a bit small so I got a size Small in this dress.  It is  VERY fitted, but I love the simplicity and sexiness of this dress.  I may just have to purchase it in black as well.

Fall fashion can be sexy as well, as long as you know how to bundle up without compromising on your style.  Neutrals and nudes are a great way to pretend like you’re showing skin without having to freeze while showing skin.

Did anyone else ever shop at the Barney’s Warehouse Sale in Los Angeles?  If so, love to hear what you got from there that you still wear to this day.

When I think Fall, I think of brown, burgandy, rust, …clay.  I found this super comfy and soft Zara Flowing Trousers With Pleat in Clay for under $20.  It is available right now in-store and online, but I promise you at this price it will sell out quickly.  I am wearing an XS.

No other city has fashionistas that scream for joy when it’s gloomy and chilly outside like we do in Los Angeles.  I am thrilled to be able to throw on my favorite coat, and not sweat my a$$ off because it’s for a photo shoot and 90 degrees outside.  I’m wearing a Vintage Geometric Coat in Light Grey with Geometric Buttons that I got from a small boutique in NYC back in 2008.  I know.  I know.  That’s like seven years ago.  But the reason I’m dating myself is because outerwear lasts FOREVER.  They will come back in style or stay in style year after year.  If you really love a coat, take good care of it, keep it in great condition, and you’ll be able to wear it for as long as you like.  Similar looks:

This Truly Madly Deeply Mocturnal Cropped Tank Top by Urban Outfitters is on sale and for under $20.  There are four colors, but I love the grey the most.  I am wearing an XS.  I wore the trouser with a mock-neck crop top because I’m not going into an office building to work in this outfit.  I styled it so that it’s more laid back, but still sophisticated and chic.  If you ARE going to work, then I would suggest a top like Silence + Noise Mock Turtleneck Tunic Tank Top in Taupe (on sale at UO).

urbanology_IMG_4082It’s the weekend and Urban Outfitters is my new #bff.  She’s having a sale that’s having a sale that ends on Monday, 10/12.  Here’s the run down: take an additional 30% off all sale items.  OR, if you’re a Urban On Insider member, (UO’s free smartphone App membership), then you get an extra 40% off all sale items.  I’m a savvy shopper so of course I have their app on my iPhone.  I took advantage of this sale the minute I saw their post on Instagram.  I tagged my fashionista friends and said, “Let’s shop!”   I tried on hats, shoes, dresses, etc that were all on sale.  Here are some of the loot that I got, and some that I recommend purchasing:

These Vans California Sk8-Hi Reissue Sneaker are on sale for $39.99 at the Urban Outfitters at Space 15 Twenty.  Because I’m a Urban On Insider, I got the additional 40% off AND I had a $10 reward from my past purchases, so I ended up paying less than $20 for these kicks that are NOT on sale at the online store (regular price $80).  Call your local UO store to see if they have these in stock.

This Out From Under Drawstring Cropped Pant is the most comfy thing to wear, and it is ONLY $6, (after the 40% off Urban On Insider discount).  Six Dollars.  For some reason the price was $19.99 at the store I went to, but I told them that the price is $9.99 online and they matched the online price.  If you’re shopping in-store vs. online be sure to check prices to see which one is less expensive.  You’re welcome.

urbanology_oneteaspoon_hustlerbandit urbanology_oneteaspoon_hustlerbandit_profile

First, it’s One Teaspoon denim.  Second, it’s under $60 at sale price, which is already a great deal. BUT, you get an additional 30% or 40% off on top of that!  These One Teaspoon Hustler Bandit Short are going to run out fast.  If you live in LA or anywhere in SoCal, it’s currently 90+ degrees in the middle of October.  Trust me, you’ll get to wear these before it turns chilly.

I love this Finders Keepers Playground Tactics Dress!  I had a girlfriend of mine try this on at the store and she looked fabulous.  On the website it says that the dress fits small and that you should size up, but I think it’s quite the opposite.  My friend is 5’10” and tried on the medium like the model online and the dress looked too baggy on her.  The turtleneck and the nice thick fabric are great for a transition into fall piece.

I have a thing for sports bras because I work out 4-5 days per week (read WORKOUT-AHOLIC).  I was thrilled when I first got the Without Walls T-Back Bra (in green as pictured) at the original sale price of $19.99, but now it’s under $12 with the additional sale.  Of course I jumped on the wagon and purchased it in maroon, which is running low in stock.  I love the T-back on this sports bra.  I wouldn’t wear it for any rigorous activities, but I wear it to hot yoga and spin class and my girls are well supported.

Have a great weekend everyone and I hope this helps you find some #fabfinds at Urban!

The Nightie That Could

I believe every female deserves to feel sexy and confident, especially when you’re at home in your own domain.  I like wearing cute, comfy things even when I’m doing nothing but lounging around in my studio.  I found this Urban Outfitters | Out From Under | Surplice Romper on sale and an online exclusive for under $20.  Wear this for that special someone.  That special someone could also just be you.

I would say the fabric is very see through.  I wouldn’t recommend wearing this as a normal romper out on the streets.  It’s definitely a stay-at-home kind of wear.  The straps tie at the shoulders on both sides for easy adjustments.  It’s a huge plus for me because I do have a long torso that can be hard to accommodate with a lot of bodysuits and tops.  I’m wearing an XS.  I’ve purchased a few Out From Under items and I feel that their sizes runs about a half size smaller than your average American brand sizing.  If in doubt, I would order a size up.

I also have the Surplice Romper in Grey.  It comes in Maroon and Dark Grey as well.  The grey, maroon and dark grey surplice romper have a different fabric than the black see-through surplice romper, which is only polyester.  The grey romper is much softer and comfy because it’s a mixture of rayon and polyester.  Though the grey is soft and delicate, the fabric is not translucent like the black.  I would also recommend these super soft sleepwear with a similar look and feel:

Out From Under Cozy Brushed Rib Romper (at UO)

Out From Under Josie Romper (at UO)

What do you like wearing at home?  I love to hear from you and get some feedback.  Thanks!
